What programs you use for ASM to work?

Edit: in the Improved Pickup Ability routine there are multiple tags that are addressed to "loop" but there are 2 subroutines named "loop", could you tell me one with "loop2" to know what it is for each one?

Another question, how it works tags with "@"??, I see that you use in a routine and when I copy the tool I get no error message, can i use the labels for the program assign offsets automatically ? example:

=canUseIt?
etc...
etc...

That means that if I make a jump to an immediate byte, the ja command should be "jr $3" (or jr $1)?

Checking the oppcode list, I dont find the "jr z" to make the jump with two bytes, you'll dont want to say "jp z"? is for the jump to "slotX"

Edit: I understand now. jr z jump a number of byte specified and not jump using pointer. Sorry jeje

If I am interested in learning ASM, my friend Crystal_ taught me some commands and how we work, but I like that I will spend the routine to convert to hex, so I gain experience with the language commands.

If want to learn ASM, but not yet, because I want to take 1 to 2 betas before learning my hack, and I do not want to spend too much time and not have results of my game.

Then we could practice it? you pass me the routine in the ASM and convert to hex you say to me if I did well or not, ok?

I have no knowledge of ASM, I recently had my first encounter with the routines, but the truth is that I know nothing.

I might be able to use the link as a starting point and just make it fit in better so it doesn't seem out of place.

And yeah, I try to do that too. And toward the end, I started deleting original data too. Like when I inserted all my new expanded tilesets, I deleted all the old tileset data and stuff and inserted the new graphics and things in the newly freed space where I could. Another problem is that the game has had several large scale updates over the years at this point, but all built off the same rom so it gets BADLY disorganized at times xD But I think we'll manage. I've been mapping out a forest area today. Ours is going to play more like a normal hack in a way, but instead of your goal being "progress through the towns and beat the elite four" it will be "progress through the towns on your way to do something christmasy" and so there will still be a couple of gyms and things. Basically its a region we had already started planning for a "real" hack back before pyro disappeared back in the day, and so we figured doing it this way its a christmas mini-hack and also a very small teaser of a region we'll be fully fleshing out in the future hopefully.
