Hey Miksy, I was thinking, do you know the Pokemon named Shellos? It's from the Sinnoh region, and it has two different appearances based on where you catch it (East or West sinnoh). I was wondering how viable it would be to make two different Pokemon point to the same Pokedex data?

So say shellos is #50 in the dex, and then east shellos is dex #240. I catch east shellos but shellos from slot #50 is registered in the Pokedex.

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm doing now. Mateo and I are working on a hack together, it's going to teach us both a lot about hacking and we're going to see what we can do. We're trying to be ambitious, to give us ultimate goals to work for with this hack, while refining our skills with the basics as well.

That's the thing; been trying to get the damn battling coded in Mint for 2 years now and have gotten nowhere with it. So I'm feeling it would be better to just move over to Pokemon Gold and try to port features over.

Yeah, very true. Obviously the battle system is more important than diagonal walking in any game, something that was preventing me from continuing development on Mint as a game. I'll continue looking into it, and if it's out of the question I'll just forget about it.

Interesting. I ask because my fangame Mint features diagonal walking as a gameplay mechanic. While it would be trouble it's definitely worth it to me.

I'll probably attempt it when I learn more programming. I figured the hardest mechanic to get working would be sliding on ice diagonally.

Hey Miksy. I was looking into something and I was wondering if it was possible to add diagonal movement to Gold. I figured that it could be implemented by calling a diagonal sprite when two directional buttons were pressed and moving a player in those two directions. I'm not sure however if Gold's engine could handle this.

Eheh. Yea. You have a point there. But for you with the whole mechanisms, and such. Im more of a storyline provider. I love to make new worlds and stories as well as creatures and charctrers. Heck. In the past I was the best in what I did. Doesnt mean that I cant improve. And as for my hack. Even if Im not able to gain some help. At least I can still plan and plot for it's story. We can still dream a little dream, even if its unreachable.

Hi,

This is a guy who most are familar with due to a certain pokemon silver rom hack, Dark Energy.

As for myself, like my username says, I was born in 1991, and so, getting kinda "old" to this scene but whatever :D
