Perhaps we could make a thread with a big list of ideas for potential hackers/game designers to find new ideas for their games?

Transport
  • Airport
  • OW Map Travel

Swapping characters? Maybe simply their palettes or, more complicatedly, their entire sprites. This could also lead to changing your character's outfits and whatnot. I think that would be a great feature.

JPAN's engine can do this I believe.

I've always wanted to see surfing and flying on the actual pokemon instead of just a generic bird or wailmer thing.

Yes, that is possible just make a multichoice box then the player OW will change to the outfit of the option he/she choose.

I want to see more complicated things like

I had the idea of randomly placing trainers on routes, so when you enter the route, there are different trainers with different pokémon. Tried to work on it, but I've never accomplished it.

I used to have a bus system back in an old version of Shining Opal. Put simply, it sucked. It was basically Fly before you could get Fly, and a lot more complicated too. Choosing your own sprite would be great, but imagine all the running and biking sprites you'd have to make. That's why, in my hack, I'm only making the player switch between three sprites or so in the entire game.

This isn't so much of a gameplay element but it is an idea for a piece of content that I had. I want to make a city floating in the sky, supported by a bunch of balloons. Sounds cliché, but it would be really interesting to see the ways one could implement it. Kind of like Glitzville in Paper Mario: TTYD (although it's supported by rockets).

By the way, every single idea so far on this thread is AWESOME and I would love to see any of them in a hack!

That's exactly what my hack is like! If you mean story based on what you choose to be. Not exactly hard, but it's a LOT of scripting =P
