If it says its missing a DLL, the first thing I would do is google the name of the DLL and see where I could find a copy.

I would start by putting the DLL in the same folder as the program and trying to run the program again (to see if it finds the DLL that way). But sometimes you have to actually register the DLL file with the system. The commands you use to do that vary with which version of windows you are running.

In that case:

1. copy the dll files to the C:\Windows\System32\ folder.
2. pull up a command prompt (either by typing cmd into the search bar on the start menu, or by press Windows + R key on the keyboard and typing cmd
3. type regsvr32 C:\Windows\System32\name.dll (but don't just type "name", type the name of the dll file
4. It should pop up saying it registered successfully.
5. Repeat for all dll files you need to register.

It's been a while since I had to do this, but I double checked by googling and that should be all you need to do to register a dll on Windows 7

I don't really know if I can comment here or not. If this is considered necroposting, I'm so sorry.

Anyway, I've tried to follow the tutorial step by step, but I'm sure I'm doing something bad because I don't get the proper effect with the evolutionary stone.

I've inserted the Dawn Stone, but when I change the values with HxD, in the game when I try to use the Stone, it pushes me back to the pause menu.

I've inserted my item in index 53(DEC) so the offset where I should put the pointer should be 25295C (since I'm using Fire Red). I've used an empty space in offset 0000D0 where I've taken A bytes, turned them into 00 and the fifth byte to 80 (offset + 4). Then I set the pointer in the mentioned offset and in the game i get nothing...

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance
