Default Metroid II: Lost Chapters

Okay, Jacob, what the hell is this? A hack...? By this guy...?

Yeah. So, this time it isn't Pokémon (gasp). Metroid II for the Gameboy. What this basically is, is a major edit of the maps in Metroid II to make the game more fun and take more time to complete. At the moment I can only map, so adding enemies or moving them is possibly out of the question. For now, at least.

As well as the Metroid boss maps, I probably shouldn't mess with them. There's almost zero documentation on this game and an incomplete level editor was released in 2004. I'm going to be looking into things such as byte behaviors, as it seems by manipulating the hex I can make things overlap samus, make things breakable, or even walk-through them.

Sure thing; I've come into a small problem regarding the fact that one map edits all copies of said map in the entire game. So I'm gonna have to figure out how to make brand new ones if possible.

Well shouldn't be that hard - I mean, it obviously has to have some outer shell of information that tells it where to look for the map data, all you need now is to find the map format (done, right?) and the metadata (events, block behavior, etc) and see which points where.

Yeah, that sounds about right. Relative searching should be useful to some extent here.
