Default Gymleader sprite problem

I have a problem that happens when I change a Gymleader sprite.
The battle works fine, but if I change the opponent's sprite, the game crashes when the battle begins.

Am I doing something wrong?

Step 1: Test the script: it works.

Step 2: Open the ROM in unLZ-GBA and find the sprite:

Step 3: Import the new sprite and fix pointers:

Let's avoid the palette part. I know the sprite will show off with wrong colors.
The problem is that instead of starting the battle, the emulator freezes so badly with a black screen and weird sounds!

I FIXED IT with NSE!
The problem was the offset! It was ending with 2, which is unsafe.
An image offset must always end with 0, 4, 8 or C.
Now it works! =D

Use NSE 2.X for sprite editing cause it's so much better and easier download is here

Yep, I used that =)
Now it works like a charm!
I would have never noticed the offset issue if it wasn't for NSE's warning.

Yeah, UnlZ is awful. Stick to NSE or GBA Graphic Editor.

Ugh, this happened to me ages ago, with Brock too. But back then I was pretty dumb and had no idea what was going on, so it's too late. What I did (which was not a good idea) was to ignore it and just use a different sprite. So now whenever I use sprite 117 my editor/ROM/Atrainer/PET crashes.

I think you can still fix it with unLZ-GBA.
Try deleting the file (yourROMname).spr and re-scan the ROM.
Maybe you can find your image and re-point it to a safe offset...
