Default Script Editing Help

I'm really new at this, so please bear with me.
I'm trying to use the "open script" button on Advance Map events but I can't get it to work. At first, it said I had no script editor, so I downloaded PKSV-UI and set it as the default script editor. I tried again but it just says no ROM open. I tried opening the rom on PKSV-UI but nothing changed and it just opens a new PKSV-UI window. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong and how to open scripts so I can edit them?

Try using XSE instead of PKSV-UI.

It's a bit more efficient and you'll find lots more support and tutorials on XSE.

You can also use PKSV - UI too. I had this problem too, and all you have to do is click 'no' when it asks you to choose from yes or no. I actually prefer PKSV - UI since it has an autocomplete system and lots of other features that make scripting easier, especially for newbies like me.
