Default Tutorial Easy Way to Insert a Tile and Palette

Hi guys, this time I want to give you tutorial about “Easy way to Insert Tileset and Palette” It’s very easy to follow

Ok….first you need :
1.A rom you want to insert a tile
2.A tile you want to insert
3.Ms.paint
4.IrfanView
5.Photoshop
6.Advance Map

Ok…Please follow step by step ^_^
1.Open your tile you want to insert with IrfanView.

2.Then go to “Image” then choose “Decrease color depth”.In “Decrease color depth” change the Colors from 256 Colors (8 BPP) to 16 Colors (4 BPP) and click “OK”.

3.Press ctrl+S to save and save anywhere.

4. Open the tile that you saved earlier with Photoshop.

5.Then go to “Image=>”Mode”=>and Choose “Color table” and click save to anywhere in *PAL format.

6.Now, Open your rom with Advance Map and then go to Block editor. In Block editor choose palette you want to change with your palette that you saved earlier from Photoshop and go to “Palette” and choose ” Load current palette from file” .then “Write palette changes to ROM”.Usually for Tileset 1, Palette from Palette from 1-5 and Tileset 2 from palette 5-12. And in outdoor, Tileset 1 is for nature like
Trees,Grass,Rock, etc and Tileset 2 like Building. In “Picture” save and choose any Tileset 1 or 2.

7.Open the tileset that you saved earlier and the tile with 16 colors with Ms.Paint.

8.Then, Copy the Tile to The Tileset.

9.Pick the background color from The Tileset and color to the background tile. Like this!

10.Save the Tileset and open your Advance Map again and go to Block Editor. In Block editor, Choose the palette you changed before.

11.Go to “Picture” ,then load Tileset 1/2 that do you saved and edited before. In my picture. This’s “Load tileset 2”.

12. Congratulations! You have to insert the tileset with the Palette

Sorry if my English bad

After following this tutorial, I don't see how things add up. I followed this and got completely thrown off. When you save the color table into PAL file, you failed to mention where it would be applied further throughout the tutorial.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I remember seeing another tut like this and there was more to it then what you have included in yours.

I followed that, but I got lost on the part where you mentioned that we use a "unused palette." The ending result I had was the image of a house but all blocked up into one color.

Thanks, for the video tutorial; it helps tremendously.

There's a lot of problems with this!
1. the palette changes again after the new tile is insert
2. you have to show what to do after the tile is inserted (cause you really cant do anything after because the palette and blocks are jacked up
3. there has to be another way to change the palette to tile
