Default [Discussion] Consolidation Sites

So as a ROM Hacker over the last 4-5 years I've been able to see a lot of changes in the community over time, and I think there's a good topic of discussion in regards to ROM Hacking and reuploading material of other hackers for either pay or for having a consolidated hub of ROM Hacks/fangames. So the discussion topic I'd like to discuss is this: Do you think it's OK for other ROM Hackers/game developers to reupload your (or other's) work without your permission?

I personally don't mind it a whole lot, as long as the original source of the content is being linked to (aka a thread). Having a consolidated source of good ROM Hacks can be pretty useful for some people who may not even know about PC, and if the hub or whatever has thread links then it would be great. This website is actually a great example of this, because it consolidates all the hacks into a nice package while still linking to the original threads and thread owners. However, if the website were to reupload the work and not make a single mention of the original source, then we have a problem. I'm sure a lot of you have seen those cheapo .webs websites which have a ton of hacks and fangames reuploaded and crap. For example, there is a new weebly site (I can't link to it, as it has ROM links) that actually takes existing, fairly recent ROM Hacks and fangames and not only reuploads them but also pushes them through an link, which not only is stealing the original owner's work but is also making money off of it. Kinda grinds my gears a bit, seeing as a lot of our hackers like diegoisawesome, Linkandzelda, Elimanene, O.G. Duke, and Chaos Rush (just to name a few) put a lot of work into their hacks only to have them put on another site for the owner of it to make money.

So what do you think? Are you for or against these "consolidated ROM Hack" and "consolidated fangame" sites? Should we just let sites like this slide or should we be actively trying to keep people from doing this kind of thing?

I think if links and proper credit is provided, I don't see anything wrong with it. They're just making it easier for their members to access that hack/tool/etc.
