Talking [HackPack] Pokémon Gen 3 Tool Pack (XSE, A-Trainer, A-Map + tons more)

Hey guys, it seems certain tools are hard to come by due to broken links or the original developer no longer supporting them. In order to help past, present and future Pokémon ROM Hackers I've decided to share with you my complete collection of tools I've collected over the last years.

This is a huge Tool pack which includes new and old tools for use with GBA Generation 3 Pokémon ROMs. Here is what's included.
  • A-Ptch - An advance patching system from HackMew.
  • A-Starter - Edit the Starter Pokémon you get.
  • Advance IntroEd - Edit aspects in the introduction of the game, such as PC items, start map and money.
  • Advance Map 1.92 - The best mapping tool currently available for GBA ROMs.
  • Advance Map 1.95 - The latest version of Advance Map, but more buggy.
  • Advance Sprite, Icon & Position - Edit Pokémon sprites, their icons and their battle positions.
  • Advance Text - Search and replace any piece of text in the rom.

  • Door Manager - Edit and manage all the Door animations.
  • Egg Move Editor - Change Pokémon's Egg moves.
  • GBA Graphics Editor - A tool to edit GBA ROM Graphics.
  • Hurricane - The *only* working FR/LG World Map Tilemap editor.
  • Item Image Editor - Edit the Item images.
  • Item Manager - Change and manage Items, add new ones etc.
  • Lunar IPS - The most used patching system, use to make and patch ROMs.
  • LTMEP - Learnable ™ Editor Pro: Edit which Pokémon can learn which TMs.
  • Misc. Editor - Edit misc things such as enable running shoes inside, evolution without national dex etc.
  • Move Editor - Edit the data for all Pokémon moves.
  • MTDE - Move Tutor Data Editor: Edit the moves that tutors teach.
  • Multichoice Editor - Edit the default text for the included Multi Choice boxes.
  • Nameless Tile Map Editor - Edit tile maps?
  • Nameless Sprite Editor - Edit different Pokémon sprites.
  • NLZ-GBA Advance - Similar to unLZ GBA but with more features.

  • Overworld Editor RE - Advance OW editor, import and export OWs.
  • Repointer - Simple tool to repoint tables.
  • SMCA - Start Map Chooser Advance: Edit the map you start the game on.
  • Tile Molester - Old graphics editor running in Java, used to edit animations and back sprites.

You may want to remove NO$GBA Debugger from there. There was a HUGE fight over pirating that software since it was paid for, and ultimately led to the discontinuation of the project. If you look in the help menu, it says specifically that this will be the last version due to pirating.

Also, the Day, Night, & Seasons tool should be included. Maybe you just mislabeled the Day & Night tool you have in there already.

Other than that, great job!!!! This will definitely make hacking easier for the youngins

I've updated the tool pack again and removed Advance Map 1.92 Hacked.

EDIT: just noticed my previous posts about already removing No$GBA were lost due to last nights database issue.

You have included a lot of tools in this that people should not be using.

Spoiler:
A-Ptch - I am working on an improved version. This should be removed when that comes out.

Advance Map 1.92 - This should be removed because it is against the rules of the creator.

Advance Map 1.92 Hacked - This should be removed because it is against the rules of the creator. Also the creator does not allow you to modify the exe.

Advance Map 1.95 - This should be removed because it is against the rules of the creator.

Advance Sprite, Icon & Position - Except for the position editor these tool have newer alternatives. This should maybe be removed but it can be argued against.

Advance Text - No one should be using this program at all. It is a good idea but the program has many problems. A hex editor is best for text editing.

Advance Trainer - This has a new alternative and should be removed.

Cyclone Prototype - Outdated and should not be used anymore.

Item Image Editor - Outdated and there is a better alternative.

Item Manager - Outdated and there is a better alternative.

LTMEP - Learnable ™ Editor Pro: Outdated and there is a better alternative.

Misc. Editor - Shouldn't really be a tool but it can be argued against.

Move Editor - Outdated and there is a better alternative.

MTDE - Outdated and there is a better alternative.

Multichoice Editor - This should really be done by hand. The tools leaves room for improvement.

Nameless Sprite Editor - Not really dead so why is it here?

No$GBA Debug Edition - Illegal to redistribute this. This is actually one of the reasons development stopped.

NSE 2 - Nameless Sprite Editor 2: Not really dead. Shouldn't be here.

Overworld Changer - I think NSE does this. I am not sure.

Overworld Editor RE - I think NSE does this. I am not sure.

Repointer - Better done by hand.

Tile Molester - Outdated and there are better alternatives.

VBA SDL H - An advanced VBA version for debugging GBA ROMs.

VBA 1.7.2 - Not really needed.

XSE - I have released an improved version. The old version should not be used.

YAPE - Yet Another Pokémon Editor: Outdated and there are better alternatives.

A couple of these have already been removed as far as I'm concerned. I agree with your point on a lot of the outdated tools. These things should best be left for users to use better alternatives unless they must absolutely use it. Cyclone, for example, while outdated can still serve some use.

If you would be willing to compile a toolpack with these alternatives in it we would greatly appreciate it.

Most tool developers have rules against that sort of thing. They prefer to be the ones to release their own programs. It's only fair since they make them and would be the ones releasing the latest updates.

I personally agree with this in the sense that if I released a tool I wouldn't want it in a hack pack of 50 other tools. As for mirroring, I don't see anything wrong with keeping something on the internet if one source goes down. A lot of valuable programs and resource were lost all over the internet when Megaupload went down. The same can be said about programs like XSE.
